Rick Schatz

Rick Schatz has served the body of Christ through a number of different ministries and churches for over fifty years. He has been able to use his professional business and biblical/theological training in serving ministries in developing strategic and operational excellence and increasing their impact for the glory of Christ. Rick has both led ministries in President and CEO roles and has served under others as well. He has served with believers from a variety of faith communities.

Rick’s ministry began when he came to Christ during his second year at the Harvard Business School. Over the years he has served on the Board of Spiritual Counterfeits Project in Berkeley, California, On Target Prison Ministry in Cincinnati and has also served on the board of a privately held company owned by a committed believer. He had the privilege of being part of the International Council on Biblical Inerrancy whose leadership included J. I. Packer, R.C. Sproul and Jim Boice. Rick was also General Chairman of the John Guest Evangelistic Crusade in Cincinnati.

From 1990 until 2014 Rick was on the staff of pureHope serving as the COO and President. This allowed him to speak and teach pastors, church leaders, parents and young people about the issue of sexual purity in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Ireland and Africa. He “retired” from that ministry and immediately joined the Prayer Covenant which is discipling and training both adults and children in a life-long discipline of prayer in the US and in over fifty countries. He has served the Prayer Covenant as President and is currently the COO. He is also the Executive Director of the Religious Alliance Against Pornography.

Rick’s service to the Church has led him to the roles of deacon, elder, teacher and preacher. He has served in adult education, in missions and led a capital campaign for his new church of which he was a founding elder. He has a heart for both evangelism and discipleship and cares deeply for the next generation.
